Drugo Riserva Chianti Classico D.o.c.g.
It comes from the best choice of Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, from a vineyard located on a hillside called “Querceto”. The south-west exposure and gentle ventilation allow for perfect ripening of the grapes which in October after careful hand-picking, hence the “Cru” character, are vinified in a 6,000-litre oak vat at a controlled temperature . In January, it is placed in 2,500 liter medium toasted oak barrels, where it ages for another two years; it remains 6 months in the bottle until it is placed on the market. The name Drugo derives from a use still prevalent in the Tuscan peasant jargon to indicate the strong and courageous, solitary man, therefore, synonymous with power like the strong and unforgettable personality of this wine.
Composition: 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot. Total acidity (expressed in tartaric acid): 5.70 g/l Alcohol content: 13.80% vol Color: very intense purple red, with tones tending towards garnet Taste: balanced in tannic components and acidity, suitable for long aging in the bottle
